Enjoy the autumn color and the cooler days and nights.
Autumn has always been my favorite season. There are so many beautiful plants that provide a
rich tapestry of color. Some of my favorites include Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia),
Purple Beautyberry (Callicarpa) and Swamp Sunflower (Helianthus augustifolius). Autumn really
is an excellent time to plant. A few important things to keep in mind; trees and shrubs can
be planted well into October and November here in central Pennsylvania. However, plant perennials,
bulbs and cold crop veggies as soon as possible in late summer or early autumn. Perennials can
sometimes rot over the winter if planted too late. Now is also the time to prep your garden for winter,
plan for winter color and interest and plan for next spring.
Just as an interior designer can renovate the rooms in your home, a landscape designer can do
the same for your outdoor space. You wouldn’t think of building a home without a blueprint
or a plan and so the same goes for your yard and outdoor living space. With the assistance
of a professional landscape designer, you can save money and time. The true benefit of
hiring someone like myself is the collaborative effort between us; you may or may not know what you
like or want and I can walk you through the process to help you clarify what it is you do want
within your means that fits with your family and lifestyle, your home and the surrounding area.
I look forward to helping you turn your ideas into reality.
