DESIGN PROCESS
in a nut shell...
GETTING TO KNOW YOU
-
I begin every project with an initial phone call and consultation either in person or virtually
-
We can walk around your property together to discuss your challenges and goals forming ideas along the way
-
I will provide you with a summary of our initial meeting including next steps to move forward with your project
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR PATCH OF EARTH
-
If you choose to move forward with my design service, I will analyze the area you would like to address
-
This includes existing conditions of the soil, light, water, wind, existing plants, built elements, local flora and fauna, etc.
INITIAL IDEAS
-
Your goals and the site analysis guide me in drafting an initial concept
-
Your feedback helps me to refine the initial concept into the final plan
FINAL LANDSCAPE DESIGN
-
The initial concept is refined into a partial, whole or phased property plan which can be used by you for DIY installation or your contractor for professional installation
-
Details include 2D, scaled, color rendered drawings including all built elements such as patios, pergolas, paths and plants by botanical and common names including quantities, etc.
-
Additional documentation may include plant and general care information, etc.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
-
I am happy to work with you and/or your contractor of choice throughout the making of the garden or outdoor living space. This includes:
-
Bid preparation and assistance
-
Source plants and materials
-
Site plants and review installation
-
Review the final product with you
-
CARING FOR YOUR GARDEN
-
Once your garden and/or outdoor living space is created, the journey is just beginning
-
The initial establishment of healthy plants is critical to the overall success for you and the wildlife that is depending upon those plants
-
Gardens evolve and change through time and no garden is perfect or should be. Thoughtful editing and care is part of the joy of gardening
-
To help your garden grow and flourish, I look forward to providing important in-depth care and how-to's as well as coaching for you DIY'ers or your favorite landscape company who cares for your residence or place of business
